Your home page
The customizable home page — the period selector, every widget group, opening the records behind a number, arranging your own page, and how administrators set a page for each role.
The home page (Dashboard, the first item of the sidebar) is made of components: boxes that each show one part of the work, such as what arrives this week, what needs attention, who owes you money or which quotes are waiting for an answer. One period selector drives the whole page, most numbers show whether they went up or down against the period before, and every number opens the records behind it. Each person can arrange their own page, and administrators set a starting page for each role.
Who has it
Every freight-forwarding organisation in Linbis has this home page. Other kinds of organisation keep the home page described in Navigating Linbis. If Linbis ever turns the new page off for a while, you see that earlier home page until it is back, and your own layout is kept.
The first time you open it, a banner reads Your home page is now customizable: click any number to see its records · Customize to rearrange. What the page shows depends on your role: you only see the components, and the amounts, that your role is allowed to see.
The header
- The layout name says whose layout you are looking at: your own, your company's layout for your role, or the Linbis starting layout for your role. When your company has locked the layout of your role, it reads Layout set by your company.
- Period — Today, This week (the default), This month, Last month, Year to date or Custom range (From, To, Apply; at most 366 days). Every number that depends on a period follows it. Each figure is compared with the previous period of the same length; Compare with the same period last year compares it with the same period a year earlier instead, and the period button then shows YoY. The period is kept in the page address, so a link you share opens the same period, and Linbis remembers it on this device.
- A time label on each component says what it counts: Now (the current state, such as what is in transit or what is owed today), Period (the selected period), or a fixed window such as the last 12 months.
- Refresh all recalculates every component, at most once a minute. Each component shows when its figures were calculated; while one is being calculated it shows Calculating….
- Customize and Company layouts, described below. Company layouts appears only for administrators who manage company layouts.
The components
The catalog groups the components as Overview, Operations, Finance, Sales, Team and Intelligence.
- Overview. Needs your attention lists only the exceptions someone must act on now: late ETAs, customs holds, free time ending or ended, files delivered but not invoiced, and quotes below the minimum margin. Executive summary puts six headline numbers on one row. Better or worse? compares this period with the previous one on invoiced, arrivals, quotes closed, profit and collections. Company daily summary sums up today and this week, with the priority of the day, from the other components' numbers. Quick actions opens a new shipment, quote or warehouse receipt.
- Operations. Operations counters shows active files, files in transit, quotes awaiting a reply and open shipping orders. What's coming shows the period's arrivals, departures and deliveries, with the invoicing expected and the profit projected, by day, by mode and by operation. Status flow shows how many records sit in each stage of your company's Status flow, the stages where work is stuck, and what closed in the period. Today's briefing and Recent shipments come from the earlier home page.
- Finance. Where's my money? splits the open receivable into current, due this week and overdue, with its aging. Top overdue customers lists the customers who owe the most past-due money. Profitability shows revenue, cost, profit and margin of the period's files, profit by service, and the most and least profitable customers.
- Sales. What are we closing? follows the period's quotes from made to won. Hot quotes lists the large quotes still waiting for an answer, Quote trend the quotes month by month, Quotes by status the period's quotes by status, Most quoted routes the routes with the most quotes, and Quote alerts the quotes someone must act on now, such as quotes expiring soon or with no follow-up. Customer portfolio shows active, new, idle and at-risk customers. Pipeline and My tasks come from the CRM.
- Team. My team shows each person's open files and tasks, and Acceptance by rep each sales rep's quotes sent and accepted. Only roles allowed to see per-person results have them.
- Intelligence. Linbis Intelligence shows cards for the risks, trends and opportunities that Linbis rules find in your figures, with a suggested action, such as a customer whose revenue dropped or whose invoices are long overdue. Each card says why it appeared and opens the records or the customer behind it. CRM insights lists the alerts of the CRM rules.
Amounts depend on your permissions. A role without access to financial figures sees Hidden for your role where an amount would be, and a component your role cannot use is not offered. If you see only your own records, the numbers count only those records, and a figure that cannot be limited to them is left out with the note Some figures are hidden because you see only your own records.
Opening the records behind a number
Click any number, or press Enter on it, to open a drawer with the records it counts: shipments, quotes, containers, invoices, payments, customers or team members. Use Load more for more rows. The list is live: when records changed after the number was calculated, the drawer says so, and Refresh recalculates the page. Where the module has the same list, a link opens it there. Close returns to the page. The open drawer is part of the page address, so the browser's Back button closes it and a link to it opens the same records.
Clicking a customer, for example in Top overdue customers or on a Linbis Intelligence card, opens the customer view: the open receivable and the overdue amount, with the tabs Invoices and Shipments. Open account opens the account itself, and Back to list returns to the list you came from.
Arranging your page
Click Customize to change your page. It is there when your role may customize and your company has not locked the layout of your role.
- Add component opens the catalog. Filter components searches it and Add puts a component on your page. A component your role cannot use is listed with the reason, such as Your role has no access.
- Remove a component with its remove button; Undo brings it back.
- Width sets its size among the ones the component allows: ¼, ⅓, ½, ⅔ or Full. Sizes apply on wide screens: on a phone every component takes the full width.
- Reorder by dragging a component by its handle, or from the keyboard: focus the handle, press Space or Enter to pick the component up, move it with the arrow keys, and press Space or Enter to drop it (Escape cancels). The move-earlier and move-later buttons move it one place.
- Default view sets what a component shows first for everyone who uses this layout, such as the counterparties of Where's my money? or the records Status flow opens on. Automatic leaves the choice to Linbis. A change you make inside a component, such as another tab, stays on your device only; Reset view returns to the default view.
- Reset to starting layout loads your company's layout for your role, or the Linbis one. Nothing is deleted until you save.
- Save layout keeps the page for you only. Cancel drops your changes; leaving with unsaved changes asks Discard your changes?.
If your access changes later, the components you can no longer use are taken off your page, and a notice says how many.
Company layouts (administrators)
Company layouts sets the starting page of each role in your company. The table shows each Role, its Starting layout, whether it is Locked, and its Priority. The actions of a role are:
- Edit layout — arrange the role's page the same way as your own and Save it. Your own page does not change.
- Use my current layout — give the role the page you have now.
- Start from template… — Management, Sales, Operations, Finance or Base. Use template applies it in one click. Components the role has no permission for are skipped, and Linbis says how many.
- Restore previous version… — every save is kept as a version; pick one and Restore it.
- Restore Linbis layout — go back to the Linbis starting layout. The current one stays in the version history.
Locked gives everyone in the role the company layout and lets nobody in it change it. Their own layouts are hidden while the role is locked, not deleted. A role that manages company layouts can always customize, so it cannot be locked.
Priority decides between roles: when someone has several roles, the highest role in the list decides their starting page.
Thresholds
Settings › Dashboard holds the Dashboard thresholds: the limits the home page uses to flag quotes, customers, stuck stages and free time, for everyone in your company. Only administrators can change them.
- The hot-quote amount, in your company's currency: sent quotes worth this much or more count as hot. Leave it empty to turn the hot-quote list off.
- No follow-up after (days), 7 by default, and Quote expiring soon (days), 3 by default.
- No shipments, short window (days), 30 by default, and No shipments, long window (days), 60 by default. The short window can't be longer than the long one.
- Stuck in a stage after (days), 3 by default, for the stages timed in days.
- Free time warning (days), 3 by default.
- Minimum margin is shown here and changed in the accounting settings (Change in Accounting settings).
Save applies them.
What the notes mean
Components carry short notes under their numbers.
- no prior data — there is no earlier figure to compare with yet, for example right after the new page arrived. It is never shown as a zero.
- new — the earlier figure was zero.
- Calculating… — the component is being calculated in the background and fills in by itself. Still calculating means it did not finish in time: use Retry, or choose a shorter period.
- Too much data for this period — narrow the range — choose a shorter period.
- History before the dashboard started is partial — the period starts before Linbis began recording some of the dates the number needs, such as when a quote was sent or accepted, so earlier records may be missing from it.
- Comparisons use data more than 2 days old and Settings changed since the last snapshot, so no comparison is shown — notes about the comparison figure.
- Hidden for your role — your role does not include that figure.
